Working on kerosang for our Peranakan collection

S came to us not just to do a jade Si Dian Jin set, but to commission us to do a set of Peranakan brooches, called kerosang, to wear with a gorgeous Peranakan kebaya on her wedding day.

We were thrilled with the challenge; kerosangs usually keep with the heavily ornate Peranakan aesthetic, so we had to create something that was at the same time keeping with that cultural sense, yet modern enough with that all important element of versatility.

Here's a rare shot of our work behind-the-scenes, where our craftman's wax carving matches K's sketch exactly. Stay tuned to see the final piece!
